Fantasy Football Time Approaches – PhinPhanatic

February 23rd, 2012 by maureen | No Comments | Filed in Hot News

It’s here.  Finally!  The start of the NFL season.  Training camps are kicking off around the league and that means it’s time to get your fantasy football leagues up and running and your draft days and times set.  Before you do however, make sure you click on this site and get 80% or more off your 2010 CBS Sportsline Commissioner’s league.  That’s a bargain at only 99.00.

To get this deal you only need to click any number of the links on this site, follow the instructions to create your league, set your draft day and time (you can set that later if you wish), and then pay for the league.  You will then receive the normally 9.00 league for the above mentioned 99.00.

CBS Fantasy football offers a wide variety of options that most of the free sites do not.  Do you have bonus points for scoring over “X” amount of yards?  You can set that up on CBS.  Do you want to award extra points for runs over “X” amount of yards?  You can do that as well.  In fact, there is very little that you can’t do.

Now is the time as draft time slots will be closing quickly.  Go to CBSSportsline.com and register today, get your league set up and take advantage of this opportunity now.

Once your league is created and you have purchased your league through this site, Email me at Phinphanatic23[at]yahoo.com and let me know what price you received and how the experience was so I can monitor this for the future.

NCAA College Football Lines: BYU vs Utah State Week 5 – NFL Gambling

Home > Gambling News > NCAA College Football Lines: BYU vs Utah State Week 5

byu vs utah stateOver the past few years the State of Utah has emerged as a real power in college football betting and even if you can’t have a beer with more than 2% alcohol content while you watch the game at least you get treated to some top quality football.

This year the talent at the state’s university has dropped off a bit as only one of the teams is currently ranked in the top 25 (Utah #13) after being mainstays in the polls the past few seasons but there are still some very good teams in the state including the BYU Cougars and Utah State Aggies, teams that will go head to head in the battle for Utah this Saturday.

Kickoff for this Friday matchup is set for 8:05 Eastern Time and sbgglobal opened with the Cougars as a 5-point favorite with an over/under total at 38.5.

These two teams have both struggled early in the NCAA football betting season and both enter Saturday’s matchup with 1-3 records.

However the major difference between these teams has been the competition they’ve faced. Both teams have played ranked teams and come up short but the Cougars have lost to better teams than the Aggies have.

Utah State has been trounced by the likes of #7 Oklahoma but they’ve also gotten beat down Fresno St and San Diego State as well. Whereas the Cougars have taken their beatings at the hands of Air Force, Florida State and #24 Nevada.

The collective struggles of these teams are many. On offense BYU has managed just 6 TDs in 4 games. In very depressing contrast the team has given up 14 TDs to its opponents, although it held an explosive Nevada offense to just 27 points a week ago.

The Aggies offense is nowhere near as potent as Nevada’s and has averaged 379 yards per game and scored 12 TDs.

It will basically boil down to BYU’s defense vs. the Utah State offense and since the smart bet is always on the defense you have to like the Cougar’s chances. That combined with the fact that they Cougars will be playing at home is a powerful reason to pick BYU to win this game, just as the bookmakers have.

Don’t expect a well executed game from either struggling side but if you’re going to lay some money on the take BYU as your sports betting pick.

Arkansas Football: Ryan Mallett’s One Throw Could Cost Him a Heisman

Ryan Mallett overthrew his receiver late in the game and it was picked off, returned into the redzone. And with that play, Mallett may have eliminated himself from the Heisman talks.

Alabama went on to score on a Mark Ingram touchdown run and take a 24-20 lead. All as a result of the great field position given to them by Mallett’s mistake.

The Heisman Trophy is as much about the perception of a player as it is about the player’s stats and the team’s success.

That throw is going to linger in the memory of the voters for a very long time. It’s going to perceived as the play that won the game for Alabama.

Is it fair? No. Is it what’s going to happen? Yes.

Unless Mallett can lead his team on a touchdown-scoring drive now, the lasting impression of Mallett from this game is going to be the interception.

EVANSTON — After a last-minute touchdown by Central Michigan, Northwestern pulled out a 30-25 win over the Chippewas. With the win, Northwestern opens its season at 4-0 for the second time in three years.

Junior quarterback Dan Persa put together another robust performance, completing 23-of-30 passes for 280 yards despite not attempting a pass in the fourth quarter. Persa completed two touchdown passes to junior wide receiver Jeremy Ebert and rushed 17 times for 43 yards.

After entering halftime tied 13-13, the Wildcats dominated the third quarter, scoring 17 unanswered points to put the game out of reach for the Chippewas. Central Michigan (2-2) mustered just 76 yards on the ground and turned the ball over three times.

NU’s rushing attack continued its struggles, averaging 3.2 yards per carry.
